What started out as a simple fortified house in the 15th century was transformed into a country house in the middle of the 17th century. Harmonious beauty emanates from the courtyard’s façades, adorned by an imperial dome. Gargoyles, weather vanes, glyphs and egg-and-dart moldings are distinctive features of noble houses and typical of the mannerist style of the time.
After the construction of the country house, a park was developed over the course of the 18th century to include woods, an English garden, an orchard, a vegetable garden and a reflecting pool that mirrors the façade at Neptune’s feet.
During your guided tour, our guide will take you on a journey through the five centuries of Château de Sales. Discover the estate’s winery and barrel hall and finish your visit with a guided tasting of our two wines, Château de Sales and Château Chantalouette.

Visitors will be welcomed in our shop area, at the entrance of the Château. The room’s timber frame, in the shape of an upside down ship’s hull, dates back to 1833.
