Bottling of the 2018 vintage

It took nearly ten days in early May to bottle the 2018 vintage of Château de Sales and Château Chantalouette.
A harmonious, fruit-filled, complex, well-balanced and elegant vintage that will delight wine-lovers everywhere!

Two world’s best sommeliers at Château de Sales

On March 7th, we had the pleasure of welcoming members of the Essen and Stuttgart Chapters of the Commanderie de Bordeaux wine fraternity, in the company of Markus del Monego (Best Sommelier of the World 1998) and Marc Almert (Best Sommelier of the World 2019). Our guests particularly appreciated the 2018, 2017 and 2010 vintages served during the lunch, as well as the tasting that followed.

Pruning, an important stage in the vine growth cycle

For nearly three months now, Adelaïde, Françoise, Maria, Marie-Christine, Marie-Pierre, Arménio, Cédric, Gilles, Mathieu and Philippe have been taking advantage of the period during which the vines are at rest to go round the estate’s 47.6 hectares (117.5 acres) and prune each vine. They pruned around 270,000 vines between 26 November 2019 and 20 February 2020! (more…)

Blending tastings, the 2019 vintage is well on its way!

The birth of a new vintage is the result of many tastings and trial combinations. Their purpose is to select the batches which will make it into the final blend of the Grand Vin, Château de Sales, and the second label, Château Chantalouette, and to see how they behave together once blended.
